Black History month in Theology

-----Black History month in Theology------
This year, I want to introduce contemporary theologians. I commend to you the book Glory Road. It is an anthology of writings from outstanding Reformed Evangelical theologians who happen to be black.

-Week 1- writing comes from Thabiti Anyabwile. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Week 2 - Our journey brings us to Emmanuel Kolini, Archbishop of Rwanda, in the Anglican church. He was instrumental in the explosion of ministry in the North American church. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Week 3 - I want to introduce you to Voddie Baucham, Senior Pastor of Grace Family Baptist Church, Spring, Texas. Here is his article.
-Week 4 - Our final selection of writing comes from Louis C. Love, Jr. He contributed an article entitled "The Doors of the Church Are Opened!" for the book, Glory Road. The following story includes a link to hear him speak about his journey. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Extra installment - This is an extra installment of our February focus. I have included this article because what Dr. Fred Luter is about to accomplish is enormously significant. He is set to become the first black president of the Southern Baptist Convention. Amen and amen!!!!!!!!

Praise \ Prayer Requests

Sorry, but I was sick much of this week, so the week has slipped by too quickly.  Below are our prayer requests for this week:

1.  Meredith - has bronchitis, prayers for healing/recovery.
2.  Katie Powers - was back in the hospital last week, but is doing better, continued prayers for her
            recovery.
3.  Drew - continued prayers, praying over his scoliosis and surgery pending.
4.  Pierce Jernigan - will be having back surgery soon, prayers for the surgery and that we as a
            group can respond well to their needs.


Reminders:

1. 2/15 Sweetheart Banquet
2.  3/28 - training day for Shooting Day, must attend if you plan to shoot on 4/5.
3.  4/5 - Shooting Day, more info to come
