Black History month in Theology

-----Black History month in Theology------
This year, I want to introduce contemporary theologians. I commend to you the book Glory Road. It is an anthology of writings from outstanding Reformed Evangelical theologians who happen to be black.

-Week 1- writing comes from Thabiti Anyabwile. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Week 2 - Our journey brings us to Emmanuel Kolini, Archbishop of Rwanda, in the Anglican church. He was instrumental in the explosion of ministry in the North American church. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Week 3 - I want to introduce you to Voddie Baucham, Senior Pastor of Grace Family Baptist Church, Spring, Texas. Here is his article.
-Week 4 - Our final selection of writing comes from Louis C. Love, Jr. He contributed an article entitled "The Doors of the Church Are Opened!" for the book, Glory Road. The following story includes a link to hear him speak about his journey. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Extra installment - This is an extra installment of our February focus. I have included this article because what Dr. Fred Luter is about to accomplish is enormously significant. He is set to become the first black president of the Southern Baptist Convention. Amen and amen!!!!!!!!

Praise / Prayer Requests

Hope each of you are doing well.  Here are our prayers requests for this week:

1.  Pam Lister's Dad - I do not have an update at this time, but if anyone does, please let us
                know.  Please be in prayer for Pam and her family.
2.  Sara - going to work on a cruise ship, prayers for her safety and for her to be strong 
                against the temptations that will surely come her way.
3.  Skyler - Robin and Sam's little one has an eye infection, prayers for healing/recovery.


Praises:

1.  Adoption process will be moving forward for the Bowes' to adopt the kids they have been
         fostering.  Still asking for prayers as the process moves forward.
2.  Our heat went out Monday evening, but praise to the Father, the repair was only $ 394...
            our unit is 18 years old...but he has been faithful to keep it running.  Also, thanks
            to the Duffield's for loaning us a space heater...kept us from "freezing" Monday night.

Reminders:

1.  Be reading Proverbs, a chapter a day, so you should be in chapter 6 today, right?
2.  3/9 - Baptism and the Lord's Supper this Sunday.
3.  3/21 - Pierce Jernigan will be having his surgery.
4.  3/28 - Safety class for shooting day...if you plan to shoot, you must attend.
5.  3/29 - Big Ed's for the guys
6.  4/5 - Shooting Day, fun for the whole family.

7.  4/26 - 4000 Steps for Pregnancy Support Services.
