Black History month in Theology

-----Black History month in Theology------
This year, I want to introduce contemporary theologians. I commend to you the book Glory Road. It is an anthology of writings from outstanding Reformed Evangelical theologians who happen to be black.

-Week 1- writing comes from Thabiti Anyabwile. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Week 2 - Our journey brings us to Emmanuel Kolini, Archbishop of Rwanda, in the Anglican church. He was instrumental in the explosion of ministry in the North American church. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Week 3 - I want to introduce you to Voddie Baucham, Senior Pastor of Grace Family Baptist Church, Spring, Texas. Here is his article.
-Week 4 - Our final selection of writing comes from Louis C. Love, Jr. He contributed an article entitled "The Doors of the Church Are Opened!" for the book, Glory Road. The following story includes a link to hear him speak about his journey. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Extra installment - This is an extra installment of our February focus. I have included this article because what Dr. Fred Luter is about to accomplish is enormously significant. He is set to become the first black president of the Southern Baptist Convention. Amen and amen!!!!!!!!

Praise \ Prayer Requests

Here are our prayer requests for this week:

1.  Drew - suffers from scoliosis, will be having surgery.
2.  LJ Howard - having to take breathing treatments, pray for the little one and
         mom, Jessica, as she cares for him.
3.  Katie Powers - came home this week, continued prayers for her recovery.
4.  Abbie Terrill - her knee is swollen, pray for her recovery.
5.  Ava - surgery went well, continued prayers for her recovery.
6.  Adam Blum - starting school, prayers that everything will go well.
7.  Pat's Family - friend of Tabitha (has leukemia, we have been praying for her),
          also had leukemia but lost his battle.  Prayers for his family.
8.  Tori Brown - having joint pain, prayers for healing.
9.  Rita - Rheta Teresko's aunt, lost her husband.  Prayers for peace and God's
        comfort.

Praises:

1.  Tabitha went home from the hospital and she is recovering from the infection.
2.  Jack Lister's cousin had breast cancer and she has done well with the
       chemo treatments.
