Black History month in Theology

-----Black History month in Theology------
This year, I want to introduce contemporary theologians. I commend to you the book Glory Road. It is an anthology of writings from outstanding Reformed Evangelical theologians who happen to be black.

-Week 1- writing comes from Thabiti Anyabwile. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Week 2 - Our journey brings us to Emmanuel Kolini, Archbishop of Rwanda, in the Anglican church. He was instrumental in the explosion of ministry in the North American church. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Week 3 - I want to introduce you to Voddie Baucham, Senior Pastor of Grace Family Baptist Church, Spring, Texas. Here is his article.

-Extra installment - This is an extra installment of our February focus. I have included this article because what Dr. Fred Luter is about to accomplish is enormously significant. He is set to become the first black president of the Southern Baptist Convention. Amen and amen!!!!!!!!

Praise \ Prayer Requests

Jennifer Yokley-    Pray for Godmother- Becky- had 4 biopsies.  Expects results this week.  Prognosis at this point is not good.

Pam Lister- (1)  Pray for student witnessed to receive Christ as Savior.  (2)  Praise for Women's Retreat.  Gave a sense of peace.

Sean Smith-  Pray for the Stillman family.  93 year old mother will go to be with the Lord soon.  Has been a solid Christian influence in the family.

Pam Eubanks-  (1) Pray for Mom and Dad.  Dad still in need of  a job.  (2)  Praise for the Women's Retreat. (a) Pray for Gin, who attended retreat, and spiritual struggles.

Allen Smith-  Pray for an employee- Jordan- who needs Jesus.

Hellen Browne-  Pray for wisdom regarding a job opportunity and for God's will to be done.

Dan Duffield-  Pray for wisdom regarding a job opportunity and for God's will to be done.


Mike Browne-  Praise for improving health of  daughter-in-law.  Continue to remember her in prayer.
