Black History month in Theology

-----Black History month in Theology------
This year, I want to introduce contemporary theologians. I commend to you the book Glory Road. It is an anthology of writings from outstanding Reformed Evangelical theologians who happen to be black.

-Week 1- writing comes from Thabiti Anyabwile. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Week 2 - Our journey brings us to Emmanuel Kolini, Archbishop of Rwanda, in the Anglican church. He was instrumental in the explosion of ministry in the North American church. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Week 3 - I want to introduce you to Voddie Baucham, Senior Pastor of Grace Family Baptist Church, Spring, Texas. Here is his article.
-Week 4 - Our final selection of writing comes from Louis C. Love, Jr. He contributed an article entitled "The Doors of the Church Are Opened!" for the book, Glory Road. The following story includes a link to hear him speak about his journey. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Extra installment - This is an extra installment of our February focus. I have included this article because what Dr. Fred Luter is about to accomplish is enormously significant. He is set to become the first black president of the Southern Baptist Convention. Amen and amen!!!!!!!!

Praise / Prayer Requests

Praying that everyone is having a great week.  Here are our prayer requests for this week:
 
1.  Dillon - cousin of Sean Smith, dealing with addiction issues.  Pray for his health and for
              recovery.
2.  Chase - cousin of Sean Smith, has a hole in his lung related to addiction issues.  Pray
              for his health and for recovery.
3.  Collins Family - father has been diagnosed with brain tumors, they have 3 children. 
              Dad needs salvation, so pray for a moving of the Holy Spirit and for the family.
4.  Daniel - Phillip Duffield's uncle who is in Afghanistan.  Pray for his safety.
5.  Divorce Recovery - fall session begins this Thursday night, pray for the leaders to be
                positive mentors and for those attending, a good many are unchurched.
6.  Kirsten Collison - seeds of the Gospel have been planted in both her Stepdad and
                    best friend.  Pray the Holy Spirit will move in their lives.
7.  Adam Brown - Mike & Helen Brown's son, recognized that he was becoming addicted
                        to prescription medication and asked to be removed from them.  He is
                       possibly suffering from PTSD.  Pray for his mental and physical health.
8.  Pam Lister's Family - continued prayer for the whole family as they work through
                 Mom's and Dad's health issues and care giving.
9.  Jessica Howard - 8 months pregnant, pray for continued health of Mom and baby
                  and for Dad.
10.  Donna - Jodi Duffield's Aunt, has Parkinson's and has now had a mental breakdown.
                      Pray for her mental and physical health.
11. Kells - Sean Smith's Uncle, has had multiple open heart procedures.  Pray for his health.
12.  Tarangelo Family - death of Steve, prayers for the family and those who need
                       salvation who were close to him.
13.  Dinglasan Family - death of Archie's sister.  Prayers for comfort for the family, but
                      also salvation for those who need to know Jesus.
