Black History month in Theology

-----Black History month in Theology------
This year, I want to introduce contemporary theologians. I commend to you the book Glory Road. It is an anthology of writings from outstanding Reformed Evangelical theologians who happen to be black.

-Week 1- writing comes from Thabiti Anyabwile. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Week 2 - Our journey brings us to Emmanuel Kolini, Archbishop of Rwanda, in the Anglican church. He was instrumental in the explosion of ministry in the North American church. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Week 3 - I want to introduce you to Voddie Baucham, Senior Pastor of Grace Family Baptist Church, Spring, Texas. Here is his article.
-Week 4 - Our final selection of writing comes from Louis C. Love, Jr. He contributed an article entitled "The Doors of the Church Are Opened!" for the book, Glory Road. The following story includes a link to hear him speak about his journey. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Extra installment - This is an extra installment of our February focus. I have included this article because what Dr. Fred Luter is about to accomplish is enormously significant. He is set to become the first black president of the Southern Baptist Convention. Amen and amen!!!!!!!!

Praise / Prayer Requests

Here are our prayer requests for this week:
 
1.  Ukraine Mission Team - on the ground, pray for safety during their time there
          and a spreading of the gospel through the work they are doing.  Travel
          mercies for their return trip on 6/29.
2.  Glenn Goff - travel mercies to Baltimore and back.
3.  Mike - my brother, separated from his wife for 7 years, in that time, she has
          come back, then left several times.  Paperwork is signed, but he is struggling
          with his faith and the divorce.  Pray for wisdom.
4.  Teresa - Chris Howard's aunt, she is in kidney failure, was on the list for a
          transplant, but had to be taken off due to an infection in her hand.  Pray
          for healing for her hand, reinstatement on the list and a transplant soon.
5.  Jean - Rheta Teresko's mom, had a stroke and Rheta is in Florida.  Her dad has
          Alzheimer's.  Pray for her mom's recovery and everyone involved in taking
          care of both of them.
6.  Jodi Duffield's sister is getting married Friday.  Pray that the wedding will go
           smoothly and for a relaxing of tensions among family members.
7.  Andrew Duffield - heading to Scout Camp on Sunday, pray for safety.
8.  Patty & Brent - Clay's sister and her husband.  Church confronting them tonight about
           their teaching and influence of others, pray the Holy Spirit will be the
           inspiration and power in the discussion.

1.  June 29th - Big Ed's for the guys, 8:00 AM for carpooling at RCCC, 8:30 at
         Big Ed's.
2.  July 19-20th - Breakfast and Lunch service for the Medical Clinic during
             Live.Love.Serve.  Bridget is coordinating our efforts and a sign up
           sheet for volunteers and food donations will be coming around Sunday
           morning.
3.  July 20th - Our next 3rd Saturday.
