Black History month in Theology

-----Black History month in Theology------
This year, I want to introduce contemporary theologians. I commend to you the book Glory Road. It is an anthology of writings from outstanding Reformed Evangelical theologians who happen to be black.

-Week 1- writing comes from Thabiti Anyabwile. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Week 2 - Our journey brings us to Emmanuel Kolini, Archbishop of Rwanda, in the Anglican church. He was instrumental in the explosion of ministry in the North American church. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Week 3 - I want to introduce you to Voddie Baucham, Senior Pastor of Grace Family Baptist Church, Spring, Texas. Here is his article.
-Week 4 - Our final selection of writing comes from Louis C. Love, Jr. He contributed an article entitled "The Doors of the Church Are Opened!" for the book, Glory Road. The following story includes a link to hear him speak about his journey. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Extra installment - This is an extra installment of our February focus. I have included this article because what Dr. Fred Luter is about to accomplish is enormously significant. He is set to become the first black president of the Southern Baptist Convention. Amen and amen!!!!!!!!

Praise / Prayer Requests

Here are our prayer requests for this week:
 
1.  Rainey - friend of the Terrill's, has cancer and is getting worse, now on oxygen. 
         Pray for God's power be with Rainey during the difficult struggle.
2.  Gayle - changes in her business.  Pray for God's provision and peace.
3.  Danny West - my brother, had surgery on his neck yesterday.  Pray for his
          recovery.
4.  Heather - young lady at our gym who is fostering 3 girls.  Court has set forth
          certain criteria for the parents to re-acquire custody.  They have 2 months
          to pass this "test".  Pray God's will for what is best for these 3 girls and pray
          for Heather.  She only wants what is best for the girls and if they do return to
          their parents, then she would like to maintain a relationship with them.
