Black History month in Theology

-----Black History month in Theology------
This year, I want to introduce contemporary theologians. I commend to you the book Glory Road. It is an anthology of writings from outstanding Reformed Evangelical theologians who happen to be black.

-Week 1- writing comes from Thabiti Anyabwile. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Week 2 - Our journey brings us to Emmanuel Kolini, Archbishop of Rwanda, in the Anglican church. He was instrumental in the explosion of ministry in the North American church. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Week 3 - I want to introduce you to Voddie Baucham, Senior Pastor of Grace Family Baptist Church, Spring, Texas. Here is his article.
-Week 4 - Our final selection of writing comes from Louis C. Love, Jr. He contributed an article entitled "The Doors of the Church Are Opened!" for the book, Glory Road. The following story includes a link to hear him speak about his journey. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Extra installment - This is an extra installment of our February focus. I have included this article because what Dr. Fred Luter is about to accomplish is enormously significant. He is set to become the first black president of the Southern Baptist Convention. Amen and amen!!!!!!!!

Praise / Prayer Requests


Here are our prayer requests for this week:
 
1.  Joe - Jonathan Judy's dad, had procedure on Monday on his Lungs.  Scan indicated a "spot", but required procedure to determine what, if anything, it is.  Pray for recovery from the procedure and for the "spot" to be benign.
2.  Abigail - Tess' daughter, has problems with her Thyroid and a blood condition and is stressed about prom and graduation.  Pray for healing on the health issues and for her stress level to be reduced.
3.  Sissy Caudle's Mom - she is now eating a little and wanting to go home, but she is way to weak.  Pray for her recovery and the decisions the family will have to make. 
4.  Dana & Allen - Shelly Goff's sister and her husband.  Both are clinically depressed and her sister is having anxiety attacks.  They are believers.  Pray for their recovery.
5.  Katie Powers - still recovering from her concussion, but fell and sprained her ankle and tore ligaments.  Pray for her recovery.
 
 Praises:
 
1.  Clay and Tess survived teaching the 3 year olds last Sunday.
