Black History month in Theology

-----Black History month in Theology------
This year, I want to introduce contemporary theologians. I commend to you the book Glory Road. It is an anthology of writings from outstanding Reformed Evangelical theologians who happen to be black.

-Week 1- writing comes from Thabiti Anyabwile. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Week 2 - Our journey brings us to Emmanuel Kolini, Archbishop of Rwanda, in the Anglican church. He was instrumental in the explosion of ministry in the North American church. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Week 3 - I want to introduce you to Voddie Baucham, Senior Pastor of Grace Family Baptist Church, Spring, Texas. Here is his article.
-Week 4 - Our final selection of writing comes from Louis C. Love, Jr. He contributed an article entitled "The Doors of the Church Are Opened!" for the book, Glory Road. The following story includes a link to hear him speak about his journey. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Extra installment - This is an extra installment of our February focus. I have included this article because what Dr. Fred Luter is about to accomplish is enormously significant. He is set to become the first black president of the Southern Baptist Convention. Amen and amen!!!!!!!!

Praise / Prayer Requests


Below are our prayer requests for this week:
 
1.  Patti Terrill - not feeling well.  Pray for her to fell better.
2.  Pam Eubank's Dad - his company was bought out and he decided it was best for him to leave.  A very tough decision.  Pray for him to have peace in his decision.
3.  David - friend of the Blum's, living in Washington State, lost his job and their insurance is running out.  Pray for him to find a job quickly.
4.  Denise Tillery's Mom Dorothy - she fell and injured herself.  Now there are decisions to be made about her care and living situation.  Pray for her recovery and for the decisions that must be made.
5.  Jack - Allison's Stepdad has cancer.  Pray for healing.
6.  Shelly Goff - not feeling well.  Pray for her to feel better.
7.  Local church in Wake Forest - pray that they will follow God's word and make wise decisions.
8.  Jodi Duffield - meeting with her family.  Pray for wisdom for Jodi.

2.  Reality Ministries - 5/14, setup at 4:30 PM and dinner at 6:30
3.  Memorial Weekend Cookout at the Snyder's, Sunday 5/26 around 3 PM.
