Black History month in Theology

-----Black History month in Theology------
This year, I want to introduce contemporary theologians. I commend to you the book Glory Road. It is an anthology of writings from outstanding Reformed Evangelical theologians who happen to be black.

-Week 1- writing comes from Thabiti Anyabwile. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Week 2 - Our journey brings us to Emmanuel Kolini, Archbishop of Rwanda, in the Anglican church. He was instrumental in the explosion of ministry in the North American church. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Week 3 - I want to introduce you to Voddie Baucham, Senior Pastor of Grace Family Baptist Church, Spring, Texas. Here is his article.
-Week 4 - Our final selection of writing comes from Louis C. Love, Jr. He contributed an article entitled "The Doors of the Church Are Opened!" for the book, Glory Road. The following story includes a link to hear him speak about his journey. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Extra installment - This is an extra installment of our February focus. I have included this article because what Dr. Fred Luter is about to accomplish is enormously significant. He is set to become the first black president of the Southern Baptist Convention. Amen and amen!!!!!!!!

Praise / Prayer Requests

Below are our prayer requests for this week:

1.  Farris' - moving this coming weekend and everyone is sick.  Pray for quick healing.
2.  Charlie Yokley - Aunt has cancer and Grandmother has terminal liver disease.  Pray for for healing and comfort.
3.  Dale - friend of Amy Leonard's who had the stroke.  Pray for his continued recovery.
4.  Heather - Scott Blum's niece.  Has a heart pump now, but is still not out of the woods.  Pray for continued healing.
5.  Bowes' Family - sickness still holding on, so pray for healing.  Also prayer for blended families during the holidays and safe travel.
6.  Tracy - friend of Michelle Tyson - is in the last stages of breast cancer.  Pray for healing, comfort and for her family.
7.  West's - Safe travel for the West's as we head to Tennessee.

Praises:

1.  Clay was able to find a Vietnamese Bible.
2.  Baptist Men - in Toms River, NJ and planning to stay for 6 months to help with recovery after Hurricane Sandy.
3.  Michelle Tyson's Dad had surgery and is recovering, but still needs our prayers.
