Black History month in Theology

-----Black History month in Theology------
This year, I want to introduce contemporary theologians. I commend to you the book Glory Road. It is an anthology of writings from outstanding Reformed Evangelical theologians who happen to be black.

-Week 1- writing comes from Thabiti Anyabwile. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Week 2 - Our journey brings us to Emmanuel Kolini, Archbishop of Rwanda, in the Anglican church. He was instrumental in the explosion of ministry in the North American church. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Week 3 - I want to introduce you to Voddie Baucham, Senior Pastor of Grace Family Baptist Church, Spring, Texas. Here is his article.
-Week 4 - Our final selection of writing comes from Louis C. Love, Jr. He contributed an article entitled "The Doors of the Church Are Opened!" for the book, Glory Road. The following story includes a link to hear him speak about his journey. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Extra installment - This is an extra installment of our February focus. I have included this article because what Dr. Fred Luter is about to accomplish is enormously significant. He is set to become the first black president of the Southern Baptist Convention. Amen and amen!!!!!!!!

Praise / Prayer Requests

Praying that your week is off to a good start.  Below are our prayer requests for this week:

1.  Stephanie - had an accident at work and is pregnant. 
2.  Katie Powers - will be having additional surgery on May 1st.
3.  Darrell Hudson - having melanoma removed this Thursday.
4.  Shelly Goff and Family - Shelly's grandmother had a stroke. 
5.  Sean Smith - having additional issues with his neck, tingling and numbness in 
        arms.  Having Therapy, but if that does not work, may need another fusion 
        surgery.
6.  Frank Jensen - gentleman on the news who is missing from his home in Wake
         Forest.

1.  4/19 - Easter Block Party - need volunteers to man Cotton Candy
           making/packaging.  If you are interested, please contact Shelly Goff.
2.  4/26 & 5/17 - Titus Kitchen Connection looking for 2 volunteers to teach hands on
        cooking for Middle School girls.  If you are interested, please contact Vicki 
         Frye.
