Black History month in Theology

-----Black History month in Theology------
This year, I want to introduce contemporary theologians. I commend to you the book Glory Road. It is an anthology of writings from outstanding Reformed Evangelical theologians who happen to be black.

-Week 1- writing comes from Thabiti Anyabwile. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Week 2 - Our journey brings us to Emmanuel Kolini, Archbishop of Rwanda, in the Anglican church. He was instrumental in the explosion of ministry in the North American church. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Week 3 - I want to introduce you to Voddie Baucham, Senior Pastor of Grace Family Baptist Church, Spring, Texas. Here is his article.
-Week 4 - Our final selection of writing comes from Louis C. Love, Jr. He contributed an article entitled "The Doors of the Church Are Opened!" for the book, Glory Road. The following story includes a link to hear him speak about his journey. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Extra installment - This is an extra installment of our February focus. I have included this article because what Dr. Fred Luter is about to accomplish is enormously significant. He is set to become the first black president of the Southern Baptist Convention. Amen and amen!!!!!!!!

Praise \ Prayer Requests

Praying your week is going well thus far and you are enjoying the nice, warm weather.  Below are our prayer requests for this week:

1.  Katie - possible she may need more surgery.  Will find out in the next week or 
          so, please be in prayer for her healing and recovery.
2.  Michelle - having a procedure this Friday.  Pray that the procedure will go well 
           and her recovery.
3.  Candi - situation at work, prayers for peace.
4.  Mike & Helen Brown's son and daughter-in-law, being stationed in Colorado. 
        Please pray for a smooth transition.
5.  Mike & Helen's youngest daughter might have an opportunity to play hockey in 
          Colorado, pray for God's will.
6.  Hannah - recovering from her 3rd lung collapse this year, prayers for her healing.
7.  Kenney Family - dad suffering from severe PTSD, preparing to leave the service 
         and they have a new baby.  Prayers for peace and healing from the PTSD.


Praises:

1.  Ronnie - previously had a tumor, most current check-up indicates that everything 
         is ok.
