Black History month in Theology

-----Black History month in Theology------
This year, I want to introduce contemporary theologians. I commend to you the book Glory Road. It is an anthology of writings from outstanding Reformed Evangelical theologians who happen to be black.

-Week 1- writing comes from Thabiti Anyabwile. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Week 2 - Our journey brings us to Emmanuel Kolini, Archbishop of Rwanda, in the Anglican church. He was instrumental in the explosion of ministry in the North American church. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Week 3 - I want to introduce you to Voddie Baucham, Senior Pastor of Grace Family Baptist Church, Spring, Texas. Here is his article.
-Week 4 - Our final selection of writing comes from Louis C. Love, Jr. He contributed an article entitled "The Doors of the Church Are Opened!" for the book, Glory Road. The following story includes a link to hear him speak about his journey. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Extra installment - This is an extra installment of our February focus. I have included this article because what Dr. Fred Luter is about to accomplish is enormously significant. He is set to become the first black president of the Southern Baptist Convention. Amen and amen!!!!!!!!

Praise / Prayer Requests


Praying that each of you are having a great week.  Here are our prayer requests for this week:
 
1.  Annie Carson - Tess met her at the Youth Rally, her husband is having a lot of pain, pray for healing.
2.  Pat - having a lung tumor removed Thursday (tomorrow).  Be in prayer for her, the surgeons, nurses and for a good outcome and recovery.
3.  Dorris Hufstetler - pray for recovery of her mental health.
4.  Louw's Family - arrest of their son, good family, bad situation.  Please pray for this family.
5.  Brian Merritt - going to California to spread his father's ashes.  Pray that he will show the love of Christ to his family.
6.  The Duffield's - putting their house on the market June 1st...lots of prep work.  Pray they will get it all done and for a quick sale.
7.  Patti Terrill - A)  she may have filled this already, but needs someone to take her 3rd hour 3 year old preschool class.
                          B)  Suzanne - her supervisor, is a believer, but thinks the world will end either this September or the next.  Pray that she will not be deceived. 
8.  Colleen Blum - her Mom is putting her house in Charlotte on the market to move closer to Colleen.  Colleen struggles with their relationship, so pray that Colleen (and Scott) can show the love of Christ to her Mom.
9.  Olive Branch Baptist - pray for a moving of the Holy Spirit among the youth in the neighborhood that will draw them to the church for worship.
