Black History month in Theology

-----Black History month in Theology------
This year, I want to introduce contemporary theologians. I commend to you the book Glory Road. It is an anthology of writings from outstanding Reformed Evangelical theologians who happen to be black.

-Week 1- writing comes from Thabiti Anyabwile. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Week 2 - Our journey brings us to Emmanuel Kolini, Archbishop of Rwanda, in the Anglican church. He was instrumental in the explosion of ministry in the North American church. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Week 3 - I want to introduce you to Voddie Baucham, Senior Pastor of Grace Family Baptist Church, Spring, Texas. Here is his article.
-Week 4 - Our final selection of writing comes from Louis C. Love, Jr. He contributed an article entitled "The Doors of the Church Are Opened!" for the book, Glory Road. The following story includes a link to hear him speak about his journey. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Extra installment - This is an extra installment of our February focus. I have included this article because what Dr. Fred Luter is about to accomplish is enormously significant. He is set to become the first black president of the Southern Baptist Convention. Amen and amen!!!!!!!!

Praise / Prayer Requests


Sending out the prayer requests early this week as well...2 weeks in a row...I am on a roll!
 
1.  The Goff's son is having wisdom tooth surgery.  Pray that everything goes well and he recovers quickly.
2.  The Martin's - Will had a really rough night and had to be carried to the hospital.  Pray for Will and the family.
3.  Jodi Duffield - has an ear infection, pray for healing.
4.  Rory Bowes' - has strep throat and is not feeling well at all.  Pray for healing and recovery.
5.  The Bowes' - lots of traveling over Easter (upwards of 1500 miles).  Pray for their witness before non-believing family members and they are taking their foster kids with them.  Pray for safety for all.
6.  Leon - Shelly Goff's grandpa.  He is becoming more confused, had given up his gun collection, only to not remember that decision and take them back.
               Pray that he will recover his memory and for Shelly's mom as she tries to work through this.
7.  Gayle, Gracie & I - lots of travel for us.  Driving to Georgia, I am flying back to Raleigh, then back to Georgia, then driving back to Raleigh.  Pray for safety.
 
 
Praises:
 
1.  Gayle and I celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary on Saturday, 3/23.
2.  Congrats to Beegee and Kathy for the birth of their first grandchild.
