Black History month in Theology

-----Black History month in Theology------
This year, I want to introduce contemporary theologians. I commend to you the book Glory Road. It is an anthology of writings from outstanding Reformed Evangelical theologians who happen to be black.

-Week 1- writing comes from Thabiti Anyabwile. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Week 2 - Our journey brings us to Emmanuel Kolini, Archbishop of Rwanda, in the Anglican church. He was instrumental in the explosion of ministry in the North American church. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Week 3 - I want to introduce you to Voddie Baucham, Senior Pastor of Grace Family Baptist Church, Spring, Texas. Here is his article.
-Week 4 - Our final selection of writing comes from Louis C. Love, Jr. He contributed an article entitled "The Doors of the Church Are Opened!" for the book, Glory Road. The following story includes a link to hear him speak about his journey. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Extra installment - This is an extra installment of our February focus. I have included this article because what Dr. Fred Luter is about to accomplish is enormously significant. He is set to become the first black president of the Southern Baptist Convention. Amen and amen!!!!!!!!

Praise / Prayer Requests


Hope your week is off to a great start.  Below are our prayer requests for this week:

1.  Robert - is very sick and is a non-believer, pray for openness to the Holy Spirit.
2.  Chris Howard - Psoriatic Arthritis is really bad right now, pray for relief from the pain.
3.  Sean Smith - unspoken 
4.  Brian Merritt - is sick and missed church on Sunday, which is very rare.  Pray for healing and recovery.
5.  Paula - Jodi Duffield's sister-in-law, 8 mths pregnant, has baby twins and a 4 year old already.  Pray for her strength and health of 
           mom and the baby.
6.  Shelly Goff - struggling to work with their son, Conner, who has ADHD and Asperger's.  Pray for wisdom for Shelly in new ways to communicate with Conner.
7.  RCCC Youth - a movement among the youth to go to the Mission Conference in Winston-Salem (a lot of them).  Trip is June 17th.  Pray for the kids to be prepared and for their parents to be encouraging.  

Praises:

1.  Jason - made Eagle Scout!
2.  Eubank's - had a great conversation with their 4 year old about salvation...the seed has been planted!
