Black History month in Theology

-----Black History month in Theology------
This year, I want to introduce contemporary theologians. I commend to you the book Glory Road. It is an anthology of writings from outstanding Reformed Evangelical theologians who happen to be black.

-Week 1- writing comes from Thabiti Anyabwile. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Week 2 - Our journey brings us to Emmanuel Kolini, Archbishop of Rwanda, in the Anglican church. He was instrumental in the explosion of ministry in the North American church. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Week 3 - I want to introduce you to Voddie Baucham, Senior Pastor of Grace Family Baptist Church, Spring, Texas. Here is his article.
-Week 4 - Our final selection of writing comes from Louis C. Love, Jr. He contributed an article entitled "The Doors of the Church Are Opened!" for the book, Glory Road. The following story includes a link to hear him speak about his journey. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Extra installment - This is an extra installment of our February focus. I have included this article because what Dr. Fred Luter is about to accomplish is enormously significant. He is set to become the first black president of the Southern Baptist Convention. Amen and amen!!!!!!!!

Praise / Prayer Requests


Hope everyone is having a great week.  Below are our prayer requests for this week:

1.  Amy Leonard - still hurting from her surgery, pray for healing and recovery.
2.  Daniel - Jodi's stepbrother, deployed to Afghanistan and his wife, Roxie, is juggling 5 kids at home, pray for Daniel's safety and for Roxie and the kids.
3.  Rodney - Thyroid Cancer, pray for healing.
5.  Michelle Tyson's Father -  doctors found a mass in his bowel and he will be having surgery in a week or so, pray the surgery goes well.
6.  Judy Kramer's Family - loss of her Mom.  

Praises;

1.  Clay Farris has accepted a new job within his current employer and they will be moving in late November.  There is both excitement and stress, pray they  will be filled with the Holy Spirit.
2.  Colleen Blum - vehicle ended up in a soybean field, but she is ok.  Pray the car is also ok.
