Black History month in Theology

-----Black History month in Theology------
This year, I want to introduce contemporary theologians. I commend to you the book Glory Road. It is an anthology of writings from outstanding Reformed Evangelical theologians who happen to be black.

-Week 1- writing comes from Thabiti Anyabwile. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Week 2 - Our journey brings us to Emmanuel Kolini, Archbishop of Rwanda, in the Anglican church. He was instrumental in the explosion of ministry in the North American church. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Week 3 - I want to introduce you to Voddie Baucham, Senior Pastor of Grace Family Baptist Church, Spring, Texas. Here is his article.
-Week 4 - Our final selection of writing comes from Louis C. Love, Jr. He contributed an article entitled "The Doors of the Church Are Opened!" for the book, Glory Road. The following story includes a link to hear him speak about his journey. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Extra installment - This is an extra installment of our February focus. I have included this article because what Dr. Fred Luter is about to accomplish is enormously significant. He is set to become the first black president of the Southern Baptist Convention. Amen and amen!!!!!!!!

Praise / Prayer Requests

Below are our prayer requests for this week:

1.  King Family - were traveling back this past weekend from Disney and all of the kids had a stomach bug.  Pray everyone is home safe and recovering. 
2.  Rose Greene - was in a motorcycle accident, broken shoulder.  Pray for healing and recovery. 
3.  Mike & Helen Brown's son Vaughn and his Girlfriend are expecting - he has been a "bad boy" running with a motorcycle gang.  He has left the gang, but pray the Holy Spirit will move in his life. 
4.  Sean - We are still battling walking pneumonia and bronchitis at our home. Please keep Chandler and I in your prayers and pray for continued good health with the healthy ones.  I am also at Duke for a final decision on my ongoing cervical issues. Please pray for wisdom and prayerful consideration of the options. 

Praise:

1.  Iron Butt Ride went extremely well and raised over $ 4k for Hope Reins. 
2.  My leg is healing very well...appreciate the prayers! 
3.  Sean - Praise - for the love and support of my wife Hope and her steady hand in all things
