Black History month in Theology

-----Black History month in Theology------
This year, I want to introduce contemporary theologians. I commend to you the book Glory Road. It is an anthology of writings from outstanding Reformed Evangelical theologians who happen to be black.

-Week 1- writing comes from Thabiti Anyabwile. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Week 2 - Our journey brings us to Emmanuel Kolini, Archbishop of Rwanda, in the Anglican church. He was instrumental in the explosion of ministry in the North American church. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Week 3 - I want to introduce you to Voddie Baucham, Senior Pastor of Grace Family Baptist Church, Spring, Texas. Here is his article.
-Week 4 - Our final selection of writing comes from Louis C. Love, Jr. He contributed an article entitled "The Doors of the Church Are Opened!" for the book, Glory Road. The following story includes a link to hear him speak about his journey. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Extra installment - This is an extra installment of our February focus. I have included this article because what Dr. Fred Luter is about to accomplish is enormously significant. He is set to become the first black president of the Southern Baptist Convention. Amen and amen!!!!!!!!

Praise/Prayer Requests

Below are our prayer requests for this week:

1.  Stacy Farris - traveling mercies and for Clay being home with the kids alone.
2.  Colleen Blum's Grandmother - hip replacement went well, she will be going home soon, pray for continued recovery.
3.  Shelley Goff - Safe travel
4.  Eden - baby daughter of friends of the Duffields, she is eating and has gained some weight.  Pray she can make it to the appointed time for her surgery.
5.  Jodi Duffield's Dad - wisdom for Jodi and her sisters on how to deal with his issues.
6.  Debbie - that she will find a job.
7.  David - firefighter who is 32 and has possible colon cancer.  Healing, wisdom for the doctors.
8.  Robin Bowes - unspoke prayer has been answered and their foster daughter will be transitioning to a new home.  Pray for a smooth transition.  Also, pray for Robin's family's property management company as they are losing some big clients and this is Robin's full time employment.
9.  Chris Via's Grandmother - has pneumonia and a MRSA infection.  Pray for healing.
10. Gayle - Please be in prayer for the English family.  Gayle's sister's Mother-in-Law passed away peacefully this morning.   

Praise:

1.  Matt Mercer is recovering from his rotator cuff surgery!  But pray for the pain at night to diminish.
