Black History month in Theology

-----Black History month in Theology------
This year, I want to introduce contemporary theologians. I commend to you the book Glory Road. It is an anthology of writings from outstanding Reformed Evangelical theologians who happen to be black.

-Week 1- writing comes from Thabiti Anyabwile. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Week 2 - Our journey brings us to Emmanuel Kolini, Archbishop of Rwanda, in the Anglican church. He was instrumental in the explosion of ministry in the North American church. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Week 3 - I want to introduce you to Voddie Baucham, Senior Pastor of Grace Family Baptist Church, Spring, Texas. Here is his article.
-Week 4 - Our final selection of writing comes from Louis C. Love, Jr. He contributed an article entitled "The Doors of the Church Are Opened!" for the book, Glory Road. The following story includes a link to hear him speak about his journey. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Extra installment - This is an extra installment of our February focus. I have included this article because what Dr. Fred Luter is about to accomplish is enormously significant. He is set to become the first black president of the Southern Baptist Convention. Amen and amen!!!!!!!!

Praise/Prayer Requests

Sorry for the delay in getting these out...below are our prayer requests:

1.  Matt Mercer - pain level from surgery, pray for reduction in pain.
2.  Loretta - Knee replacement went well, pray for continued recovery.
3.  Allen Smith's Dad - blood sugar levels are out of whack, pray everything will level out.
4.  Robin Bowes - unspoken
5.  Amber - Duke's oldest daughter, pray for salvation
6.  Pierce - recovery from severe UTI, pray for continued recovery, wisdom for Henry and Elizabeth in decisions about his care.
7.  Jeff - hit his head and has a gash and it was getting worse, pray for healing.
8.  Stegall Family - friends of the Duffields with a small baby named Eden whose heart is failing, will need surgery.  Pray she stabilizes and they can hold off on the surgery until she is at least 4 months old.
9.  Betty English - Gayle's sister's mother-in-law - home with hospice, pray God's will.

Praises:

1.  Mike & Helen Brown's son was in a motorcycle accident and cracked his helmet, has a concussion, but otherwise is fine.  Pray he recovers well.
2.  Harold Lessner - gall bladder surgery went well and it appears that was what his issues stemmed from.
