Hope everyone had a great New Year's, below are our prayer requests for this week:
1. Rising Star Academy - The Knight's school, having lots of kids transferring in mid-year, pray they will be able to meet the demand and bring the kids
up to speed.
2. The Blum's - their son, his girlfriend and the dog have moved in...pray for wisdom and peace...also for a job for their son.
3. Piscatello Family (spelling?) - lost their father several months ago and have now lost a nephew. Pray for comfort during this time of loss.
4. Stringfield Family - dad died in a car accident. Pray for comfort during this time of loss.
5. Craig Swanson - coworker of Clay Farris - we have been praying for him as a non-believer, possible stirring, continue to pray.
6. Hill Family - 7th Grader died suddenly due to an infection, family and friends are taking it hard, pray for comfort during this time of loss.
7. McKennan Family - 10 year old, Harrison, has luekemia, pray for healing and remission.
8. Intentional Prayer - each of us knows someone in our circle of influence that is now saved, be intentional in your prayers for salvation.
9. Matt and Alicia Mercer - We need prayer for wisdom, strength and courage to parent as God would have us to do as we deal with struggles with our son Stephen. Prayers for Stephen: To make good choices, to be set free by coming to Jesus and laying it all at the cross and have positive influences come alongside of him.

This year, I want to introduce contemporary theologians. I commend to you the book Glory Road. It is an anthology of writings from outstanding Reformed Evangelical theologians who happen to be black. -Week 1- writing comes from Thabiti Anyabwile. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.

-Extra installment - This is an extra installment of our February focus. I have included this article because what Dr. Fred Luter is about to accomplish is enormously significant. He is set to become the first black president of the Southern Baptist Convention. Amen and amen!!!!!!!!
