Black History month in Theology

-----Black History month in Theology------
This year, I want to introduce contemporary theologians. I commend to you the book Glory Road. It is an anthology of writings from outstanding Reformed Evangelical theologians who happen to be black.

-Week 1- writing comes from Thabiti Anyabwile. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Week 2 - Our journey brings us to Emmanuel Kolini, Archbishop of Rwanda, in the Anglican church. He was instrumental in the explosion of ministry in the North American church. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Week 3 - I want to introduce you to Voddie Baucham, Senior Pastor of Grace Family Baptist Church, Spring, Texas. Here is his article.
-Week 4 - Our final selection of writing comes from Louis C. Love, Jr. He contributed an article entitled "The Doors of the Church Are Opened!" for the book, Glory Road. The following story includes a link to hear him speak about his journey. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Extra installment - This is an extra installment of our February focus. I have included this article because what Dr. Fred Luter is about to accomplish is enormously significant. He is set to become the first black president of the Southern Baptist Convention. Amen and amen!!!!!!!!

Praise / Prayer Requests

Below are our prayer requests for this week:  

1.  The Merritt's House - should be closing at the end of August, pray everything goes smoothly.  They will also be moving in that weekend.
2.  Glen Goff - travel mercies
3.  Will Martin - bad week with seizures, now on 3rd medication, which has side effects that might cause issues.  Pray for stabilization for Will, wisdom for Rob and Tammy, and peace for Tammy as they struggle with how best to help him.
4.  Wanda - one of Will's doctors, has stage 4 cancer and has only been given a couple of months.  Pray for her and for her family.
5.  David Barbour - perforated intestine, pray that treatment works and it can be repaired.
