Black History month in Theology

-----Black History month in Theology------
This year, I want to introduce contemporary theologians. I commend to you the book Glory Road. It is an anthology of writings from outstanding Reformed Evangelical theologians who happen to be black.

-Week 1- writing comes from Thabiti Anyabwile. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Week 2 - Our journey brings us to Emmanuel Kolini, Archbishop of Rwanda, in the Anglican church. He was instrumental in the explosion of ministry in the North American church. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Week 3 - I want to introduce you to Voddie Baucham, Senior Pastor of Grace Family Baptist Church, Spring, Texas. Here is his article.
-Week 4 - Our final selection of writing comes from Louis C. Love, Jr. He contributed an article entitled "The Doors of the Church Are Opened!" for the book, Glory Road. The following story includes a link to hear him speak about his journey. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Extra installment - This is an extra installment of our February focus. I have included this article because what Dr. Fred Luter is about to accomplish is enormously significant. He is set to become the first black president of the Southern Baptist Convention. Amen and amen!!!!!!!!

Praise / Prayer Requests

Below are our prayer requests for this week:

1.  Bobby Baines - Anthony Liles' Stepdad, he is home from hospital, still needs lots of prayer for his recovery.
2.  Will Martin - Neurologist Appt on Thursday, pray that meds can be balanced and the appt goes well.
3.  Heather - Mike & Helen Brown's daughter, made it another week, really ready to have the baby, pray for a safe delivery.
4.  Alexis - Mike & Helen's daughter, having headaches, has a neurologist appt, she is young and struggles with providing all of the info necessary for the doctor to help her, pray she will tell the doctor exactly what is going on and that he will be able to help.
5.  Shelly Goff - pray for pain management.
6.  Marge - Matt Mercer's Mom, recovering well from her surgery, but shadows were seen on an xray, pray that these shadows are nothing to be concerned about. 
7.  Darryl Cash - Can you please add Jimmy Jones  to the Prayer List. Jimmy is a member of the Redknights NC 12 motorcycle group (Firefighter)  He has been fighting cancer September 2011 There is nothing else that can be done from the Drs so now it all is in God’s hands.

Praise:  

1.  Youth Boy's rafting trip - Dan Duffield helped out and everything thing went well (everyone safe).
