Black History month in Theology

-----Black History month in Theology------
This year, I want to introduce contemporary theologians. I commend to you the book Glory Road. It is an anthology of writings from outstanding Reformed Evangelical theologians who happen to be black.

-Week 1- writing comes from Thabiti Anyabwile. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Week 2 - Our journey brings us to Emmanuel Kolini, Archbishop of Rwanda, in the Anglican church. He was instrumental in the explosion of ministry in the North American church. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Week 3 - I want to introduce you to Voddie Baucham, Senior Pastor of Grace Family Baptist Church, Spring, Texas. Here is his article.
-Week 4 - Our final selection of writing comes from Louis C. Love, Jr. He contributed an article entitled "The Doors of the Church Are Opened!" for the book, Glory Road. The following story includes a link to hear him speak about his journey. Enjoy the link to his outstanding article.
-Extra installment - This is an extra installment of our February focus. I have included this article because what Dr. Fred Luter is about to accomplish is enormously significant. He is set to become the first black president of the Southern Baptist Convention. Amen and amen!!!!!!!!

Praise/Prayer Requests

Below are our prayer requests for this week:

1.  Stacy Farris - had surgery, pray for a good recovery.
2.  Sara - Aunt of Colleen Blum - having hip replacement on April 10th.  Pray for the surgeons and nurses, pray Sara will recover well.
3.  Bike Week Contacts - Riders made lots of contacts.  Pray God will move in their hearts.
4.  Galley's  - Friends of Jodi Duffield, Missionaries in China, returning to the States, pray for a good transition and that they will find jobs.
5.  Rob Martin's Mom - dementia is worsening and the family was talking with her to try to convince her that she can not stay by herself.  Pray for clarity so she will understand.
6.  Beverly Gardner's brother - he was able to come home, but pray he will not have a repeat (bowels became twisted).
7.  Patti Terrill - has laryngitis, pray she recovers her voice. 

Praises:

1.  Glen Goff donated platelets!
2.  Bike Week - everything went well and contacts were made!

1.  Clay Farris - continue praying for his Muslim neighbor.  He attended services at RCCC.
2.  Chris Howard - arthritis, affecting fingers.  Pray for relief.
3.  Jim & Chris Howard - traveling to England, pray for safety and opportunities to share Jesus.
4.  Jheryl Knight - curvature in his spine has progressed.  Pray for healing and wisdom on what to do next.
5.  John Dillard - pray for peace as he adjusts to life without Emily.
6.  Stephen Mercer - pray for recognition of sin.
7.  Coach Evan - golf coach for Rising Star Academy, struggling in his Christian walk.  Pray for strength.
